Red is used to energize. The Chinese looked favorably upon red and painted their banners red as talisman. The Mother Goddess in India is painted red because she is associated with creation. In ancient times red was associated with life and they stained anything with blood to bring it life. Anything red draws attention, inspiring admiration.
